New Hanover High School is a high school located in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. New Hanover High is the oldest existing high school in Wilmington.[1] The original building, designed by William J. Wilkins and constructed in 1919, underwent a complete renovation at the start of the 21st century.
We are New Hanover County Schools, the 12th largest district in the state and the City of Wilmingtons 2nd largest employer, serving over 26,000 students. We provide a high quality education for a diverse population of students and many educational choices including Magnet, Early Colleges and Alternative Programs. From the scenic beaches to historic downtown Wilmington, our students are exposed to quality enriching experiences via University and business partnerships. We are proud of our high performing students who are prepared to contribute and enhance Wilmingtons quality of life and the world. Our students are our link to the future!
